Dell dude shows off lightfx + overclocking of the XPS 2.33ghz m1710 laptop. This was found on Dell’s direct2dell blog, however it was only found in WMV format. This youtube video is for everyone who are not able to playback the crappy WMV format!

How do I tell which processor I have. I have this puter with the 2.33 chip but the system properties list a T2700? Could that be right? No OC for me?
I still own this M1710 it still work perfectly, and another M1330 this model is such rubbish replace motherboard 3 times within 2 years of warranty and just dead again last week.
-No more Dell for me , i so happy about M1710 but not M1330 to current.
-Mine M1710 is getting old now.
-Thanks for video, i am now trying to OC this thing.
@TheSaltyAdmiral I don’t have this laptop, but there might be a BIOS update for it that allows overclocking.
Yah, sure. The only thing, Patrick…, is that the XPS 1710 and 1730 bought between 2005 and 2008 have ALL the same structural problem with their NVIDIA GeForce video card dying after 12 to 18 months of use.
Which make this, top of the line laptop a..infect piece of sh*t
@user12119 lol, same
nvm i got it. the ‘G’ behind the processor number is the crucial thingy here.
T7600 versus T7600G
:<
i got the latest BIOS A07 and intel core 2CPU 7600 at 2.33GHz and there is no such option like overcloking in my bios.
i also got an OT question:
what is your windows experience index?
ty
update your BIOS
What the demo fails to mention is:
Dell website:
1. The system has to have been purchased with an Intel® 7600G processor. No other processors currently grant the over clock settings.
2. The system must be at basic input/output system (BIOS) revision A03 or higher.
The option will then appear automatically in the BIOS.’
I only have the T7600 in my M1710
Apparently the ‘G’ makes all the difference between being able/ allowed to overclock or not.
overclock? what a fail lol
You can get a brand new free laptop just for filling out some forms right now but there are only a few left… go look for yourself at intelplanet . com
Thanks for the tutorial!
However I do not have that option in my BIOS:/ Yes, I have an XPS M1710.
Any suggestions?
My Dell XPS M1710 don´t have a OC function!
Wow I never knew that my computer could do so much O.O
Sorry but I cant stop laughing when he looks at the camera.
the principal it’s the heat overheating the cpu
over heating
what are the dangers of overclocking?
I believe if you can’t mod the voltage, the battery life should stay roughly the same.
And I doubt any laptop manufacturer would let you mod the voltage.
Didntt work.
try just hitting enter, as in no password whatsoever,.
hey everyone,
I have a problem.
I bought a xps 1710 like 3 months ago.
not a second hand one either.
Ands i’m tying to overclock it,
But it says that there is already a set admin password.
No one has touched my PC and i’ve never set a password.
Does anyone know how i can change it.
I really wish that overclocking was available on the T7400 CPU.
can anyone tell me how to overclock my toshiba satellite?
