Intel and Dell have made over-clocking your Dell XPS M1730 gaming notebook easier than ever.
Any frequency you LIKE ? how stupid this instruction was indeed ! you M F idiot.
i cant do it :s
OMG i hate this computer!!!
yes m2 that sucks
I have a XPS M1710. However I do not have the OC option under the performance tab.
Is it just a matter of BIOS version, or is it not possible at all on this XPS or what?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
That’s cause dell doesn’t allow overclocking u overpaid for your laptop u need a $1,000 cpu to over to 3.4 you could’ve bought the asus w90 and with any cpu u can over clock up to 40% and the w90 has the 4870×2 it simply vaporizes this new alienware machine and leaves it in the dust
Yh i wanted to do this on mine, but i think you can only do it with the x9000=2.8ghz and in the bios you an take it up to 3.4ghz, i might buy an x9000 as an upgrade but they are pricey
you wanna see a big ass heatsink google the gemin 2 thats a big ass heatsink
i would never overclock a laptop atleast with a desktop you can swap out the damaged part when overclocking goes bad lol dells suck anyway. anyways usually when you oc you need to add cooling because the best used method of oc is to raise the core voltage of the proccesser yeah thats what dell wants you to do oc your laptop void your warranty so yo have to have them fix it or buy another one
big ass*
meh the 1730 has a pretty damn good cooling system.. a separate bid ass heatsink/fan for both the cpu/gpu.
I dont have any overlcock tab under performance tab in my bios. im running on the latest version a09 on my m1730. i think that it might only apply to the 2.8ghz model not my 2.4ghz model m1730. Something that the video maker/poster didnt bother to point out.
i tried what this video said, i cant cant overclock my m1730
I cant overclock my m1730 by doing what the video said.
the first guy seems like a bit of an idiot. and they’re saying that its done in the bios anyway? thats where you overclock the cpu in the first place!? wtf lol… i dont know many who use desktop third party software to OC anyway, its way to limited. There is nothing innovative about what they’ve done. All mobo’s these days come equiped with an OC profile to increase speeds by a set %. though this usually sucks because if u want a decent OC you need to tweak and work abit
dunno why people are giving dunlrock a thumbs down, lappys do have shit / piss ass heatsinks and fans and overclock poorly, hes right
My processor goes up to 70c. How can I overclock? It will burn down!.
How can I oc my T8300 to 2.6 ? Should I ?
do you need a better cooling system
DAng i wich i duld clock my M1530
Nah, it runs pretty cool OC’d to 3.4GHz, trouble is the fans are like a mini tornado… Prime95 on both cores at 3.4GHz for a weekend, no probs. I bought one to replace my old Alienware, very heavy, short battery life, but immense processing power in something I can stick in a bag
wtf? overclocking laptops will literally burn the cpu with that tiny ass heatsink
Whew… I was hoping I wouldn’t have some complicated stuff to do when I overclock it.

I’m gonna get my Beast in May and I need to overclock so I can play crysis
Thanks Dell and Youtube
what about heat?
Yes, only the 28 ghz processor. And to the person below this (retro1985), the video explains how to overclock it. Press F2 and it brings up the menu. Go down to performance, go to the overclock tab and slide it to whatever you want it to be at (up to 3.4GHz.
