How much memory (RAM) can my computer hold? ?

I have a dell XPS 400 and I’m planning to upgrade my computer’s RAM. But i’m not sure about the maximum memory my computer can take. I have 1 2GB memory stick on one, an 512 MB memory stick on another slot. I have 4 slots, and have 2 open. I’m planning to buy the 2 GB one, so will it work? How much can it hold?

i dont know ….how about you get your lazy butt over to google and try a search
I forgot
do u have a frys elecronics near you? if yes, go ask them. they like…know everything
The Dell XPS 400 supports a maximum of 8GB of PC2-4200 memory across the 4 slots. Maximum of 2GB stick per slot.
if you just go to
http://www.crucial.com/
click "Scan my system",
it will figure out (1) how much you have, (2) how much more you can add, and (3) give you the option to purchase it for a reasonable price.
It’s a legit site; I use it all the time…
I did a google search and this is what I found,
Max memory 4GB in 4 dimm slots.
Both Dell XPS 400 and XPS 400(Viiv) have a max memory of 4X1GB. It does not say it will support a 2GB module.
Check with Dell.
