How do you check the bios version and if needed upgrade bios?
| April 25, 2010 | Posted by computer accessory under BIOS |
Been thinking of upgrading my laptop’s memory and the website says:
Special notes: Dell Inspiron 5100 must an updated BIOS to version A32 in order to recognize 1GB of ram (two 512MB modules).
How do I check my bios version? thanks!

hey…..
when your logon in your system in boot menu ,you have option like
BOOT MENU press F12
BIOS press F10 like that ,some motherboard had some keys just search it …and press particular key you want it…..ok
First go into the BIOS and enable boot time diagnostics screen.
This will remove the DELL logo at boot and show the old fashioned non-OEM type boot with all the info.
everytime you put your computer on it should say the bios version on the bottom somewhere
Because it’s a Dell, it should show a Dell logo on boot. It’s a big blue DELL logo and below it the BIOS revision text should be displayed. If not, then press F2 and you should boot into the BIOS settings menu. at the very top it should say it there. Oh yeah, wait 2 seconds before you see the Dell logo and press F2.
