How do I fix the standard vga graphics adapter cannot start problem?

I’ve been having trouble playing my zoo tycoon 2 game because the monitor has been turning off and on automatically.I went to my computer’s device manager and found a problem with the standard vga graphics adapter.It says this device cannot start(code 10).Is there a way to fix this problem without spending money?
