hi guys
How can i remove my bios password in dell 1420 urgent
i know my bios password but i cant remove it.
can any1 help me urgent req. i will very thankful to u.

try popping the battery out of your motherboard. There might also be a bios reset jumper on the board.
Go into the BIOS, and open the change password dialog.
Press enter and see if that helps.

-Unplug the power cable.
-Open the case.
-Remove the battery from the motherboard.
-Find the CMOS reset jumper (usually 3 pins in a row, 2 of which will be connected with a jumper: a cap covering both pins)
-Remove it from the 2 pins it’s connecting and place it so that the middle pin and the previously unconnected pin are connected:

-Leave it for 10 seconds, then put the jumper back in it’s original position
-Put the battery back onto the motherboard
-Close the case
-Plug in the power cable

Note: this will effectively erase all BIOS settings. On most computers the default BIOS settings are fine, but this is not always the case. You may have to enter the BIOS after clearing the CMOS, and match the configuration it had before the reset.
if you can’t change by accessing bios settings. there is a clear cmos jumper on your motherboard. moving jumper with power off sets everything back to factory settings. put jumper back before powering up. failure to to so could damage mobo. jumper is usually on bottom right of mobo
Most laptops have a similar procedure. This will either involve removing all power sources (battery and mains) then locating the CMOS battery and disconnecting it for 2 minutes, pressing the power button for 10 secs, reconnecting the CMOS battery followed by the mains and turning the system back on – this will completely reset the BIOS to default settings. The other alternative is a password reset pin set on the main board.
Either way, if you look through the Dell support site you should be able to find a technical manual for your model or contact Dell directly.
The CMOS battery will be within the body of the laptop and will require some disassembly of the laptop. You may prefer to take this to a specialist laptop engineer.
