Call of Duty 4 PC – Xbox 360 Controller vs. Keyboard and Mouse Config

Just a breif demonstration of which is the better of the two. Some people say a gamepad is best for sniping etc. well I think i’ve proved the latter to be best for competition, If you would like to play cod4 PC using your Xbox 360 controller check out my tutorial if you don’t already know how to get started with using it on the PC here: www.youtube.com If you already know how to get connected, and are unsure of how to set it up in cod4, simply download his program: www.pinnaclegameprofiler.com Once installed, go to their forums and download the official Call of Duty 4 profile, for both SP and MP, you can tweak these as per your preferences. I have never played the console version of cod4 so for now I have mapped the buttons to: L Trigger = Sprint/Hold Breath R Trigger = Fire L/S Button = Crouch/Prone (Hold) R/S Button = Aim D-Pad Left = Lean Left D-Pad Right = Lean Right D-Pad Down = Equipment Scroll D-Pad Up = Nightvision A = Stand/Jump B = Knife/Melee Attack X = Reload/Use/Pickup (Hold) Y = Weapon Scroll L Bumper = Pyrotechnics R Bumper = Frag Grenade Back = Scoreboard Start = Pause Game If anybody has the time, please let me know the actual xbox 360 configuration so i can tweak it up, maybe it will be a bit easier to play then. Well said. Honestly, if your watching this vid, you already know how to use a damn KB&M. Ive heard people say controllers are better for aim and I just say “Would you try to click an icon on your desktop with an analog stick? Heads aren’t much different than icons, just moving.” Plus, almost ALL consoles games have auto-aim. Why? Because no one would be able to aim at all without it. Lol especially Halo 3 – MASSIVE aim assistance. You feel a HUGE recital jump.
PC is far far much beter in gaming speed and skills then the console.
I did have a console and the only games good for the console r games like Teken and Raceing.
Games like FPS,TPS r pure PC games.
And the PC is just simply universall.
So i am 100% PC and for games like console i have a PSP.
pc is the best but i do like ps3 and xbox

i have a thrustmaster 2in 1 dt gamepad.; I may sound crazy but i cant seem to setup the movement keys right. Like how an x-box comtroller is setup, left joystick moves up and down but the right joystick move left and right. Its just all to complicated!!!!!
@halo4life97531 if there is any game u want to play with no game support try xpadder and it will map the gamepad buttons to key presses and that should work okay??
It really isn’t faster, do you own a console? If you did you would know you can change the sensitivity on the options menu to as fast as you like. and also, on a controller everything is in one place and easy to acces. There are 85 keys on a keyboard, so you have to look at it to press the right key unless you know the layout off by heart, and you have to move your hands all over the bloody great thing, wasting precious time that might just stop you from getting killed. Overall, Controllers=WIN!

I try using the 360 controller and it is slow.even after i adjust the setting. I mean,mouse is better you turn around quicker. thanks for sharing the demo though…

@Nevikin lol 85 keys, last time i counted only 16 that i use regularly, and within minutes of playing cod i knew where to place my hand.
also some games for consoles the highest sensitivity isn’t enough. e.g Halo ODST and Fallout 3
That’s a load of crap. You could easily say the same about an xbox controller, “you have to look down at the buttons so you know what you’re pressing”. You don’t use all the keys in a game so you don’t have to move your hand “all over the bloody thing”. Also you can do more on games for PC seeing as you have got more keys than buttons that could stop you “wasting precious time that might just stop you from getting killed”.

@Nevikin how hard is it W.A.S.D to walk, change guns middle mouse button, aim with mouse, sprint with shift crouch with c u must be retarded if u cant hit those keys and not know where they are.

what sensitivity is the controller set to? it seemed awfully slow.
i have a 360 and usually play on 6-7 sensitivity, doing a 180 to knife a guy who ran past me is almost never a problem.
a friend and i are having the same argument right now.. lol the thing is i used to PC game too and i always pwned his ass in FPSs so i know whats up. ill have to see for myself. we’re gnna do a couple 1v1s on mw2

i play on PC and XBOX360, and i really like the pad, but what u said is BS.
u can’t keep up VS a mouse if it goes to turning speed AND accuracy
i play quake for example, i use wasd for movement, all buttons around it for weapons switching and stuff, and i NEVER look @ my keyboard
