I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 and while I am producing music with several tracks it begins to skip and then eventually mutes. Also streamed videos won’t play for a while after.
On my Cubase Le 4 mixing software it says ASIO overload when this happens, and I was told I need a new sound card.
If this is true then what would be a reasonably priced sound card that will perform well for this type of use?
If you do not think it is the sound card and you think it could be something else, also let me know please.
Hey. Im trying to convert my hp proliant ml115 server in to a pc. Im running windows xp os but, performance seems too slow, so im thinking of installing ram. I have already got 2 512mb DDR2 5300′e’ (server memory) and was thinking if it is possible to get standard 1-2gb DDR2 5300 ram installed. And, will this even help increase computer performance?
I know that all of these things determine the speed of the computer, but how do there jobs differ? How do I determine the difference between a good motherboard or a bad motherboard. Or an i3 vs i5 vs i7?

I know how to get into bios normally, but I can’t view the screen during the boot sequence due to a cracked screen on my netbook. I’m currently using my TV as a monitor through the HDMI cable, which won’t activate until I’m at the windows login screen.
So, I need to know if there’s any way around this.
I read that the Sega Saturn has one of the best 2D processors of all time. But, a console like the N64 is more powerful than the Sega Saturn overal…Shouldn’t it be able to render 2D graphics just as good, if not better? What exactly is the difference between 2D and 3D processors and what they do?
I have been researching ways of taking apart computers and circuit boards/motherboards, as I am planning to create some ‘geek jewellery’ sometime soon to make some money. The person I am getting the motherboard from advises me to do a bit of research as there are some dangerous lead components and parts of the motherboard. So could someone direct me to a website or give me a little bit of information on what components I can safely get off of the board, and what precautions I will have to take while de-soldering/whatever.
